So Who won this time? I'm a Sony guy but I won't lie. Last time it was Mbicrosoft with them introducing slim 360 & it's release date & some other things I forgot. This time Microsoft didn't do anything new except for more on voice recognition but that had been done on PC long time ago. By the time I was done watching Sony's conference I thought Sony nailed it but after I watched Nintendo's conference, I thought I had to do some comparing. It did start with some boring stuff but then this new controller surprised me.

I don't know what to say about Microsoft so I'm going to skip to Sony & Nintendo.

Sony did a great job by apologizing for Network problems although it wasn't their fault. That was a nice way to start the conference.
The good thing about Sony is that they usually don't try to BUY the 3rd party games to make them exclusive to Sony like IMO Microsoft does but instead they just add their exclusive stuff to it like Kratos for Mortal Kombat & Soul Callibur or Joker for Batman: AA etc. So this time I really liked it that they mentioned 3 new shits for EA games & Cole from Infamous for Tekken X SF. I also loved PS Vita review. Loved it that it had 2 analogue sticks rather than just one like it's predecessor, although I knew about this & touch screen. Yes, the touch screen is a good thing too & the great thing is that it's optional so we can stick to traditional controls if we want. The front & rear cam is a great idea. The hardware looks powerful too. The content like 'Uncharted' & 'Tekken x SF' is superb. Other than Vita, the other innovative thing was what 3D glasses & stuff could do. What I liked was how 2 players will be able to see 'their own' separate screen instead of split screen. As far as content for PS3 is concerned, Sony still did good here if not great. The 'Uncharted' walkthrough was mindblowing. God of War collection & Ico collection was mentioned. Off course as much as I hate to say this, I WAS disappointed with Sony for not mentioning anything about the new God Of war game & The Last Guardian. But maybe God of War 4 was just a rumor or maybe it's too early to talk about it sp after the events in God of War 3.
Overall I'd say Sony did a lot better than Microsoft.
I'll give them 3 1/2 stars out of 5.

The way Nintendo started their conference, it almost put me to sleep. It was boring. I almost turned it off but when they mentioned this Wii U controller they got my attention back. I loved the trailer for wiiU controller. It was awesome. I might even buy just the controller for digital painting since digital painting pads are expensive. But jokes apart it was innovative. I'm not mentioning anything in order but the other thing I loved was their new, ahem, HD console... FINALLY!!! Yes, and the content was adult games not party games. Even if the games seemed 'ports' from Ps3 or 360, it's still a relief to see them finally thinking about adult games. Hmmm I can't think of anything else to say about Nintendo. So I guess I'll end it here.
So overall I'll give Nintendo 6 out of 10 or 2 1/2 stars out of 5

One thing that all of them learnt is to skip 'exercise/fitness' games. Nintendo did mention it but briefly.

Si to conclude, Sony won the show.

In short, Sony won

I've started playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, as I've mentioned on my FB & Twitter posts. So far so great. I'm enjoying it. The Rome is beautifully built. There is only ONE thing I dislike, which is if you don't do missions on a given (hidden & optional thankfully) time, you won't get full synchronization. I searched this on web and found out from gamespot forums that the memories you won't be able to access would be optional. I wish it was more easier to get all his memories. I'd really like to know more about his memories but I hate timed missions and hate reliving memories :(

So I read 'BatmanL Dark Victory' recently. It was great but not as great as 'The Long Halloween.' So this could be the reason that Dick Greyson in new comics is a kid instead of a teen or a young adult. Well this sort of makes me hate him less but I still would prefer Jason Todd since I had read his 'Red Hood: The Lost Days' graphic novel some months ago.

I'm also playing 'Enslaved' on PS3. (AC: Brotherhood on PC)

Yea, lights are out since 12:30 PM or so. I'm using my laptop...on generator. It doesn't work on the battery any more. I usually can't think of doing anything on my laptop other than watching porn and some other social media updates, so I had decided that I'd be LJing on my lapee. It's text so it won't take much memory. My lapee is low specs. Might post the pics here soon. They are on FB. I've lost all my LJ friends so there's no one who can comment on my entries other than a few spammers. But the lights might be back in anytime and then I'll have to turn this thing off. Then I could continue on my desktop or leave the posts in limbo :(

I couldn't sleep around 3-4 so I decided to stay up and not fuck up my schedule by goin to sleep and wakin up much later. I had just changed my timings yesterday and loved it, specially the breakfast at the morning time, so I don't intended to change back to vampire timings ...unless I literally FALL asleep. Read a bit more of 'Clash of Kings.' I don't think I'm gonna rate this book as much as the previous one which was a perfect 5 star for me. A few chapters have been boring and a few things have offended me as well. My fav characters are still Bran Stark and Jon snow. I'm starting to like Tyrion more now since he's doin all this justice thing. I liked him in the first book too but not as much as the other two I've mentioned. Hate Cersei and Joffry Lannisters. I hope Rob or Tyrion gets to kill Joffry. I don't hate Jaime though. Atleast not yet. I just completed the second chanpter of Theon Greyjoy.

Lights haven't gone out yet strangely. It's 7:15 AM. The usual morning time is 6:30-8:30

Movin ahead in Assassin's Creed 2. It's great. I still think Altair is cooler than Ezio. My face lit up when I saw Altair. Was so happy to get to be him for a little while.

Joined FriendFeed the other day. First it posted some older posts. Now it's laggin even newer posts.

Played the 'Flower' demo. Other than the controls the whole experience was nice and soothing. I didn't like the sixaxis that much in heavenly sword too. I did liked it Heavy Rain and liked most moves for uncharted though. So Sony posts the demo of a game that they released a few years ago??? This could probably be because they are considering either a sequel, or the release of this game on the disk (finally) and add motion controller support to it

Today I'm gonna talk about the motion take of Sony for Playstation. Last year at E3, I thought Kinnect [called Project Natal then. I called it nasal though, although it was pronounced as nuh'taal'] was mind blowing and although Sony wasn't far behind, I still thought Nasal might win here. I was glad when I found out that the guys at GT loved Sony more. Anyway this year also I loved both Move and Kinnect or maybe Kinnect a little more but since I have Sony stuff and not Xboxes I had to make a decision weather to buy Move or not. I was interested in it more than 50 %, but a few things kept discouraging me. Well, we were told that the PS3's main motion controller [yea that magic wand I call dildo]  would not work properly without their Eye Cam :( I was a little disappointed since Nintendo [whose Wii has shitty graphics] has this Wii remote that is often called as Wiimote [I kinda like calling it that too ]  is used WITHOUT repeat WITHOUT any cam and can still make people do fun things with it. So why does Sony want us to buy their Eye cam. But the good thing is that the price doesn't seem THAT high. As far as I know, Kinnect [hell, I doubted this from very first day I saw Kinnect] is more expensive. The other discouraging thing was that for certain games [games that require you to carry shield as well as weapons and my favorite Move game 'The Fight; Lights out'] you need TWO Move Controllers :( I was really put off again. I was however still more than 50 % interested [My InnserSelf: Do you mean 51% ?] But since I have saved enough money for one of the things [I didn't go to Hyd for 2 whole months] I thought about it more. If I can try I can save enough money each month for all the accessories [i.e. PS Eye, Motion Controller 1, 2 and finally a Navigational Controller] But this is how I thought I might buy them. Since the Motion Controller would be out in September or October, I can a PS Eye till then from the money I've saved. Then I can save enough money for one motion controller and when it comes out I can buy one and play games that require only one motion controller and when I'm ready to play games that require 2, I'd save enough to buy another one. I'm not 100 percent sure about navigational controller. According to Sony it's optional and according to Amazon it's completely untethered. But I still confused that if you won't buy the navigational thing, how would you walk your character with the motion controller. I know that it might have that button. Nintendo only has ONE wiimote and at E3 2010, the guy played Sorcery using only Motion Controller and I know it's stupid considering that the walk won't work with Motion Controller but still I'm a little confused. I saw [probably on comic con] that Resident Evil 5 was being played with a navigational controller. So why would he do that? Off course this could be to show us the use but the point is I wanna know about all the buttons on Motion Controller like which one would be used for walking. I don't even know which button they use on Wiimote. I guess Wikipedia might have the info.
Anyway, while I was thinking about my strategy of buying these accessories, I looked up a few things on the net and I was really really encouraged for buying these things. I looked up some reviews and prices. One forum also mentioned that we may be able to play PS3 games with either an Eye cam OR a Motion Controller. Now I know that there are games JUST for the PS Eye like Eye Pet but I doubt that we'd be able to play games with Motion Controller without using the Eye cam. It would be cool though but I don't think it would be done. Sony had made it clear that their motion controller wouldn't work properly without their cam. Other thing that had encouraged me was the fact that like Kinnect, your photos would be taken and all. I don't take my photos more often but during games it seems fun. Anyway, so I was more encouraged last night after reading some info on Playstation Move. I still have the tabs open and I'm gonna read more on them soon. Hope I won't get discouraged again.
----
Other than this I've been reading Fever by Robin Cook, playing Saboteur on PC and Patapon on PSP. All of these things are. at the moment, around 7/10 for me but more about these things at some other time as the post has gotten really long and I gotta do other stuff so I'll close it here with a hope that PS Move would be 10 times better than Wiimote and not just at Wiimote in another skin :)

So they finally unblocked facebook? I had checked it early in the morning and it didn't seem likely but this guy told me later today. I don't feel like visiting it at the mo :(  Like I said, there's no freedom of speech here :( My heart's sorta broken. I don't agree with religious people very much, even then I was not able to access FB. Twitter is so boring. Infact let me check it :P. Been watchin flash tutos lately. Using flash after a very long time. It has changed so much over the time. Readin 'Da Vince Code' by 'Dan Brown' It's good. I've reached half of the book. Yep. had bought this and 2 more books or so. 'Death on Nile' wasn't available so I bought 'Five Little Pigs' since I had read it a little on pdf and finally bought that huge Sherlock Collection since it was cheap too. Had video recorded the books in my cell. Later, noted down the author's and book's titles and will be downloadin the books. I mostly download a book so that I can read a few pages before I decide to buy the paper version which is more comfortable.

First it was facebook and now, other sites like wikipedia, youtube and flickr are blocked too by Paki government :( All because of those religious people. Where do people like me go who are not very religious. If there was something against the religion on facebook, that they found offending why didn't they choose 'report abuse' thing if it exists? Why block the whole thing and why block other sites :(  Here I was thinkin that it's been a long time since I posted anything on flickr. And why wikipedia? It's so fucking informative. There's no "freedom of speech" thing here. Shitty thing is that they're gonna block it till 31st may which doesn't make any sense at all. Strange thing is that facebook says that it wasn't against it's pollicies. WTF All these sites say in their terms and policies is not to offend any religion and here they say it's NOT against their rules? What if it was another religion? Anyway I don't care about people's opinions and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Just cause you don't agree with them doesn't mean they are wrong. I don't see pakis blocking porn sites.... I wish instead they could have given some choice like if anyone wants to block the shit, then block it. I'm sure then even the most protesting ones wouldn't have blocked it since they spent most of their time on FB but off course only FB can give that choice. And how ironical it is. They got pissed and the site got blocked for 10 days. I'm sure they'd be regretting their protest now since they can't interact with their friends anymore for 10 fucking days.

We would progress only if we care about others' opinions. There should be freedom of speech. Now, I read that there was this nemesis group too so I think that's a nice idea. If you hate that page, create an anti page. As simple as that. And do not pay attention to what offends you. Just ignore the fucking thing.

Other than this I've been readin novels and all, sp mystery crime ones. So my top 5 at the moment are:
5./4 Anatomy of Fear by Jonathan Santlofer/ Murder on Orient Express by Agatha Christie [I still haven't decided which one should be 4 and which one should be 5]
3 And then there were none by Agatha Christie
2. Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
and # 1.. drum rolls.........
The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle :))))

I wanna buy Da Vince Code by Dan Brown now and Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie
I wish the books 'In Cold Blood', 'The Big Sleep' and 'Jar City/Tainted Blood' were available but apparently they are not... at least not at Hyd

I've read 3 Dark Tower books by Stephen King. I 'm not sure what to read next: Weather The Dark Tower 4 or Twilight.

Reading books again after a long time. I had stopped reading books and now I'm addicted again after a long time. Reading Cujo by Stephen king. Had loved 'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho. Bought a few of his other books [2 or so] Cujo seems fun but boring too. As usual King when mentions a character, he starts to mention what the shit the character was doing in the past and apprantly forgets that it's not about his past that the story revolves around. Bores me to shit. Other than that his usual two names for a new character after just a few moments. I don't think it's easy to remember too many characters names if they are mentioned too quickly in the story. People need time to remember one fucking character for some time before they want to digest another's story. He just names anyone included in the story even if it was unimportant. He would name all the people in the shop, all the passers by's names etc etc as if it was really important. Well I like his stories but these things piss me off. Now I'm at page 70 at the moment and Cujo who I take it as a main character haven't been making his "appearance" more often. He is mentioned even less than a supporting character has a role in a movie. Rest of the story revolves around the neighbours and their unnecessary activities and past life just like in 'Needful Things.' I loved his "Dark Tower 1: The Gunslinger" so much. It didn't have any unimportant shit. The only thing that pissed me off in that book was his vocabulary which I don't think is a bad thing. "Needful Things" was like 6 or 7 out of ten for me cause of some mentions that I thought were unimportant. I shouldn't be bashin about him maybe. He's one of my fav authors. I don't think I have many favs though. I won't stop reading Cujo though. I wanna keep on reading. Maybe the story would change after a few pages. Stephen king is nice. It's just that apparantly he puts shit on his readers every now and then in his books since he thinks they'd take it anyways. This is just MY opinion though [No shit, who else's opinion would it be?] People are crazy for him. Anyway, I like him too. Other than this I'm also reading "Little Brother" by Cory. Awesome book. :) I have this trilogy "On the seventh Day" to read too. I think that would be my next. In fact let me put my recent activity of good reads here after I share this pic that I made. Sorry if it offends anyone:

Haven't played silent hill 5 yet. Finished readin second comic book in 100 bullets [shot water back]. What the fuck is wrong with this story. They start out so nicely and end so badly. In the first one [first shot last call] I liked the ending but I didn't like the way she left Emilio like that. I felt sorry for Emilio.

In this part [shot water back] I completely hated the ending. This part started nicely as last one and it was all fun and itneresting until the ending came. IT'S FUCKING ADULT!. He could've just killed her but no, they had to reverse it. One of the grave's "employ" couldn't do it. He deserved to live with his family. They all hated him for somethin he didn't even do and yet that bitch gets away with it. Completely shitty ending. Ruined the whole fucking thing.

Played more of silent hill 5. Started from the sewers...dogs killed me. They jumped on me. Later, with half full health, I managed to kill the first two with the axe I guess. The last one arrived  but I was able to skip him as usual. No wait...maybe I had to come here again? Cause dogs found the way and killed me? I don't remember. I guess even with half health they followed me? Next time the third one didn't come after the finch scene. I followed finch. Killed the nurses with the gun and axe. Got injured again. After some stuff I was in alternate reality: Disturbing. Very long. Smogs were beatable with the axe and later with 2 shots of handgun each time they exposed their lungs [as the game suggests]. Smogs don't give as much problems as needlers do to me and siams are beatable too. The helish place was long and disturbing but there was no save. Luckly there were no more monsters later after 2 smogs. Finally there was a save and I sensed a boss battle a little. The boss was easy to bring down to the ground but later it was able to hit me. I did manage to bring it into its next form which was spider-like. According to the walkthrough at mahalo, u just have to avoid his/her jump but this "spider-doll" won't go up the ceiling. Alex was slow too cause at this time he was injured. So the boss was able to beat me. The game started from before I met finch, before I entered the boss arena so I turned it off.

So here's the "deal" The alternate reality was back so half of silent hill experience was back but maybe they had to make something shitty so there was no map :( The places weren't that misleading and there was like one way road most of the time but even then I needed to check a few things if I had the map but no they didn't care.

Now I've seen enough of the disturbing scene. Hope it doesn't mess up my dreams as other sh did :P
---------------
Other than that I've been reading ebooks lately, on my pc and psp. [yes it's possible on psp. There's a software u have to download and copy to game folder before you can put ebooks on you psp]

Anyways so reading "encyclopedia of haunted places" when at bed and sometimes encyclo of insects" And I'm also reading gunslinger [dark tower 1 by stephen king] when I feel like. On PC I'm reading comics. I just finished 100 bullet's first issue [first shot last call or somethin like that] and watchmen too :))) I'm back to comics after a long time.

I'm still playin ...corrections...struggling in this game since I got it. I'm in sewers at the moment. Finally was able to kill all the needlers and the siam that comes afterwards after several tries. And by all needlers I don't mean all the needlers in the sewer but all the needlers in that last area i.e 3 of 'em. That's right. Game has become almost impossible to play. I was so excited when I first started it. How it reminded me of my previous sh series. Thinkin why the fans hated it. Although I had later found the reason or maybe I thought was the reason. The reason was that as wiki says that they've tried to "westernise" the series since 'origins' for psp, hence reducing the fear factor. The team isn't the same since psp version. Anyways, the game seemed fun to me till the first boss, although I hated the lack of saves. Also, the alternate part seemed cut down too. Infact I only saw it twice I guess with one of them bein Alex's dream sequence. I added the word sequence cause I mean you do get to play his dream as most other SH games if some non SH fans don't know. Anyways, part of me like the "normal" word so I didn't care but the other part of me thought that the alternate part was cut down. By normal, it means normal according to the game and not according to us. The normal part has monsters and fog and now the gamer who doesn't play silent hill can think what would be alternate if normal doesn't sound like normal. Anyway, maybe it's nothing for many people. My brother and I think that those people who don't care about psychological stuff may not get scared but I'm not ridiculing anyone here. If it doesn't scare anyone then they are brave. It scares me though. Back to my views... So erm after the first boss is dead, you find yourself in a cell of a prison and it's from then that the game forgets that it's silent hill and thinks that it's self defence game. After you gain control of your character after the last cutscene in that area, you are greeted with 4 enemies. Sure they come in 2 by 2 but they do NOT go down easily with melee weapons. You do have ammo here but just enough to kill three or maybe 4 of them. But a fifthe one emerges if you try to get the health pack either from the bathroom or the room with the broken glass window or both. Luckly you can avoid him and run where you'll come to a place to duck to where he won't be able to come but only to be greeted by two more of these things and by this time you don't have the ammo if you used on the previous four assholes. I tried a lot but always got killed. If I survived the first area, I always got killed in the second one. I got lucky once and the first pack didn't come once. Mabye it was a bug or maybe the game felt mercy for me. I quickly ran to the second area leavin behind me the precious health packs. So I used the ammo on the couple in the room. I used to avoid this couple too and a times I was able to reach the third are too. There's a loner here. It's easy to kill a lone monster though. Maybe not all the time. ok after all this shit, which took me a several tries, I still didn't get to save and the Siam comes. Luckly he's easy for me. This was maybe the first one I met but managed to kick his ass despite being badly injured. After that were the sewer and my most hated enemy needler was at maximum here. These ass holes are ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE for me to kill. They block almost EVERY move of mine. They block the melee attack as well as the shotgun attack. They are made of steel and they come in packs and they are able to climb the short ledges :S The handgun however workds on them but even then they reach you. It took me many many tried to end the sewers level. Took me 3 days or so I guess. NO I don't play all the time but only one hour or more. Here however I stop playin after I get frustrated which happens every now and then after the first boss. After the sewers level, I roamed around my house and met 2 of these other enemies. Luckly I had ammo. Unfortunately coming here was usless. Anyways, I was badly injured as I made my towards dr. Finch's location, dogs followed me. One also came from infront. Luckly I was able to make it to the office w/o the dogs even touchin me although I was really badly injured and the character [alex] was walking veryyy slowly since he was badly hurt. OK. After 2 or three cutscenes I still didn't get the save. I got health pack however. After exploring the "working" room, when I came out the nurses greeted me. Funny thing is that these brainless monsters know combos better than Alex who's a soldier or something. Yea "you" guessed it. I got killed since the nurses had better combo than me and they were three in number and I was one and with half of my health only [should I say half full?] So I waited for the game to reload but it reloaded from where you get out of the sewers. That means I would be draggin my ass back to dr. Flinch avoiding three dogs again and not sure if I would be lucky that time so I turned the game off.
My point here is not to present the walkthrough but to explain how shit it has become and I hate to say cause it's my fav series. It's my most fav survival horror game cause it's more psychological rather than zombie shooting survival horrors. Yea so the bottom line is the game gets almost impossible to play after the first boss is dead. It pisses me off now. I'm trying very very hard to like it.
I at times have same score as the critics for the games but for diffrent reasons.
more views later if I'm able to move ahead that is.
Don't do this, silent hill, baby.

gonna play sims 3 in a while and I'm not as addicted to that game as I was few days ago. Views? later. Enough "dose" for today I guess :P

I just couldn't find the gas for the gas can and the save option :( So I had to go back to home town building to save my game :( So far so good. I don't think that the game sucks...yet. They've tried to make it same fun with some button mashin to please both fans which hasn't failed for me. Don't know y people hate it. I only hated it when I couldn't find the save at the house.

Been playin sims 3 lately and am addicted already. Thought I won't like it since the graphics in screenshots didn't seem that different from sims 2. I thought maybe I won't like it since some people on net mentioned certain bad things. I never searched good things though. Sims 2 was a huge step ahead after sims 1. Not only it had 3d world but the life simulation was detailed too for e.g the birth of a child in sims 1 would result from lots of kissing or special beds but in sims 2 they didn't only include bed but also pregnancy, throwing up etc. It was more real. It had deceases, consequences, wishes, fears to name just a few. So I thought if they haven't changed the graphics that much they might not have changed the gameplay that much either. I also read somewhere somone mentionin that it could've been an expansion pack instead. Someone else mentioned that no matter how much they change their sims' looks they always look fat. I remember this girl they show in trailers with the dark lipstick and is a little over weight. I was scared that my sims would look similar. I got a little more discouraged when I read that there are no environment and comfort needs. However I still bought it since I'm a fan of the series. I knew that even if I'm not gonna like a few things I might still be able to get addicted for other things. I didn't like it as much when I first started it but I kept playing it. I had thought that I would just revert back to sims 2 and wait for sim 4 if I didn't like it. But I was wrong. I started liking it the more I played and I got completely hooked. I guess the gamespot scored it perfectly or maybe even less :P cause just like last sims game this one too is 10/10 for me. It took very few days to fully get engaged. I found out that mood meters that were snatched away were there but more like little moodlets. This however made more sense to me than adding it to the main mood meters so I'm ok with it. There are some positive and negative things I'm gonna mention below and more as I play.
Other than negative and positive things there are some things that a player might like slowly as he/she plays the game instead of quickly so I'm gonna mention them seperately under. Other than just mentioning those things I want to give reasons too so it might make it more boring but nobody HAS to read it if anyone is reading this hichway I'm uresay obodynay sihay.

***Positive things:

*Digonal sort
Most probably every sims fan knows that they can now put objects digonally in sim 3 w/o any cheat.

*Resize rooms
This is a very handy feature. Instead of demolishing the whole wall & building a new one, you just resize a room by dragging it. Just hover over the wall to see the green two way arrow & drag away. This is a very handy tool for everyone for e.g. when you
are starting out & don't have enough funds, or you buy a small built house you can live in small rooms & when you have enough funds & want to make your rooms bigger then all you have to do is just drag them. Unless you want a complicated design of your house.

*Garden
I'm glad that you have the option to grow plants in the original version & don't have to wait for any such expansion pack. This is my personal favourite [maybe the rest of the opinion too] I loved gardening when it was introduced in unleashed for sims 1 & seasons for sims 2. And you don't have to choose a specific plane for it. They can work on an type of earth. I do however prefer to make the surface look muddy instead of green for the plants area.

*Job Branches
Jobs have branches now and some of your sims may want to work in a certain branch of a job which is nice thing.

*Visit other neighbours
Not that I cared much about visiting other houses in sims 2 but I kinda like it that it's possible in sims 3. You get to know more people..uh I mean..sims this way. The good thing is that the game 'knows' when you are being a jerk when you are visiting. If you start to use their obejcts like the refrigrator if you are NOT their close friends, they won't like it. This is a nice thing. Sometimes you will HAVE to visit other sims for opportunities.

*Drag & drop stuff:
Don't want your sims to waste time and recycling the old newspaper & can't wait for the maid? Just click on it and drag it to the trash can & you are done :) That's right. You can drag & drop a lot of stuff this way & it saves a lot of time for sims. Some [or maybe most] of the items can be moved around the house this way too w/o switching to build/buy mode. You don't even have to pause your game. Isn't that sweet :)

*Classes for skills
With news stuff to do in sims 3, a player can get overwhelmed & get confused for what to improve. Fear not, if you don't want your sim to put a lot of effort in building a skill, you can send him to classes around the neighbourhood for a fee.

*opportunites?
This is another fun addition IMO. Once you build up enough skills, you will be asked to accept opportunites for e.g. other than job related opportunies, someone would want some lunch when you'd have enough cooking skills & would pay you if you bring them the meal. You can gain some extra money & even relation points this way.

*Skills bar
You may not care about this but it kind of is a little handy. When you hover over the skills that your sims has increased, you'd see a little bar showin how much your sims has progressed in the current skill bar.

*Friends portraits
Instead of just choosing from the menu when you want to call a sim, you can actually click on their picture in your friends' list & choose call over or chat from there. This is very handy too.

*Other clothes
This is also unnoticible but if your sim is in the shower & lets say he has to go to the job after this or even after some time, he would dress accordingly after the shower. It used to be funny though to watch your sims change to everyday clothes & suddenly to work clothes in sims 2.

*Upgrade
This is a really fun thing specially if your sims has the 'handy' trait. [forgot what it's called] When your sim has enough handy[sorry I forgot the name for the skill] skills he can upgrade the appliances or electronics for e.g he can upgrade the dish washer to quite mode one or a stereo to better sound or most of the stuff to unbreakable. I loved this feature so much. It does require some time though & would be somewhat difficult to achieve quickly if specially if your sim has a job & is trying to increase his skils accordingly

***Negative things:
*Graphics: Almost as same as sims 2. However sims have more expressions and more body versions as shown in a pic at wikipedia. And if the graphics were higher I think your PC would be extremely slow with lots of things [animations] happening at the same time in a non loading world.

*No fears:
Wishes are there but there are no fears? Were they thinking to make it a "happy happy" game? Come on everyone has fears. Sims do get their bad mood when something bad happens but there are no fears.

*No memory.
NO more things saved in memory cause there is no memory :S. I don't if including more things would've made this game heavier but I loved memories. It was so real when a sims would save somethign special in his/her memory and now they'd just forget when they accompolish somethin?

*Not eating the prepared food.
80% of my sims just preparet he food and put it on a counter until I command them too. Some sims however do bring it to the dining room but most of the sims do this. It becomes very annoying and you can't add another command until you command them to eat. Some even put it in the refridgrator as left over although it was a freshly cooked meal.

*No clothes shop
Atleast I couldn't find any in my neighbourhood. In sims 2, I used to think that making my sims visit community lots is useless [minus the expansion packs] because I didn't see anything fun to do outside & the needs would delete too quickly too. But it made more sense when I found out that you could buy new clothes for them. I didn't see any clothes shop in sims 3. You can only get new clothes via a create-a-sim screen that can be accessed by the the cabinets.

*Food
Sims 2 changed the way you used the refridgerator. You have buy groceries either by ordering in via a phone or by visiting the the store. This thing in sims 2 was a little annoying at times but I thought it was more real so I liked it in that sense. Here, however, you don't have the option of ordering you groceries. Worst thing is that you can not visit inside a grocery shop either. Your sim is the only one who would enter such a shop & you'll only be able to see the building from outside. You can buy groceries by visiting the market, you can plant your vegies and fruit in the garden or neither. That's right. If you don't do either, you can still cook in a similar way to original sims. Your money would be deducted when your sim takes the ingredients out of the refridgerator if you haven't stored anything inside it.

*Traits, one by one:
When you create an adult or a young adult sim, you get to choose all the traits for that sim. However when you get a toddler, you get only one trait & as you progress, you get to choose the traits for your sims when she grows up if you've made that sim's life 'better'

***Things that might take time to get accepted:

* comfort & environment as moodlets instead of full mood meters.
(I think it would take time for players to accept this reality. Once they do, my opinion is that they'll love it more than previous way.)

*Skills
In sims 2, you had around 6 or so skills to learn. In sims 3 you have more. I don't think a single sim can learn all of them in his/her life time. The guitar and paitning doesn't give you one single creativity skill but will have different skills like guitar skill and painting skill. It is so overwhelming first but later you start to like it. Specially because of some fun opportunies you would get regarding each skill.

*No aspirations
We loved aspiration in sims 2. We loved the way our sims were either romantic, family ones, fortune ones etc. You don't get those 5 aspirations here. Well but that's not all. You have traits instead. You choose traits from so many given to you when you are creating your sim. I didn't like it as much when I first started it but after sometime I started to like it. Your sims can still be family oriented or flirty etc but in theier traits. But that's not all. Your sims have benefits for a specific kind of trait for .e.g if your sim is flirty, her flirt interaction would work on other sims more than the sim that is not flirty & so on.

*Customize
Once again this might seem overwhelming at first, but once you know how to do, I'm sure you would be spending time not only to buy new stuff but also to customise it just a little bit if not much. I loved painting my refridgerator red although red isn't that fav of mine.

Build mode
Again this would seem too different for some when they first start to build. You get a full portrait of the whole things you need in one. You just need to click on certain parts of the picture to get that stuff. This may not explain what I mean. Anyway, once you know what you are doin, you might not even care much later.

---------
Other than all that I had read that they wanted to include seasons in original sims 2 but couldn't cause of some bugs [rain/snow would fall through roafs] so they when they fixed the problem, they made this expansion pack. I wonder if they DID fix the problem then why are there no seasons in sims 3. Not that you'd miss them though.
----------

will post more stuff when I find out enough to post :)
I had this written some days ago. I'm not as addicted to sims 3 at the mo. Still play it daily though and probably more than an hour or 2

My batman date got fucked up again when lights went out. I really wished there was manual save rather than just pathetic one slot and autoshit. Or maybe there is. I was in last levels. Now, I don't feel like playing it all over again. I'll just get either silent hill 5 finally or Dark sector and think about shatman later.

Mood: bored

I'm bored to shit. Was playin heavenly sword yesterday? at evenin time and was in this difficult level where kai is on some zip line in a box and shooting arrows at enemies on bridge. This level gave me a hard time too. I did manage to move ahead though. The lights got dimmer at 8:30 [minus DLS] so I turned the game off. Since then I'm bored and the lights are still dimmer. It's 1:58 AM now [minus DLS] A day got wasted and I couldn't move far in the game :( I don't know what to do now. We're runnin a generator and I don't turn my consoles on on generators. Just don't know what to do. MSN 'asked' me to update it or it won't run but after updating it still won't run properly and won't even uninstall. I uninstalled it and it's still there :(

I couldn't do that kai's level, where she's supposed to shoot arrows at enemies to save Shen, when I had tried again at evening time. However I did manage at night time. After that it was time for the remaining boss. The one that has a tail and is probably wife or sweetheart of the villain guy. After THAT there were more missions of kai. The ones where enemies rush towards her seemed a bit difficult but the ones where they were on their positions seemed better specially with those combustible objects. On mistake I had blown all the objects on top floor and enemies went there later but even then it was easy to finish them from there since they weren't coming to me. Guess I've learned the aftershit 90 or 80 percent now. After I did that level, it seemed that she had one more mission like that but I had to get up and do stuff. I will resume shortly.
